Our story
A workshop, a maker, and a love of craft
Barwon Craft Works started with a simple belief — the things we use every day should be worth keeping.
How it started
I've been making things for as long as I can remember. What started as a hobby in a small shed in the Barwon region grew into something I couldn't ignore — a genuine love of the process of making, and a desire to share the results.
Barwon Craft Works is a one-person workshop. Every piece is designed, made, and finished by hand. There's no production line, no outsourcing — just time, skill, and care.
Three crafts, one workshop
The workshop spans three disciplines — each one distinct, but all sharing the same commitment to quality and intention.
Working with locally sourced Australian hardwood, I hand-shape serving boards, turned bowls, and functional pieces built to last a lifetime. Timber is finished with natural oils and beeswax — no synthetic coatings.
Precision-machined components and decorative metalwork, from functional hardware to one-off sculptural pieces. Every cut is deliberate — metal machining rewards patience and exactness.
Custom-designed and printed parts, prototypes, and objects. FDM and resin printing opens up possibilities that traditional methods can't — complex geometries, tight tolerances, and rapid iteration.
What we stand for
Made to last
Every piece is built to be used, not just admired. Quality materials and careful construction mean things that outlast trends.
Honest materials
Timber, steel, and polymer — used for what they're good at. No shortcuts, no unnecessary finishes.
Local roots
Based in Grovedale, Victoria. Sourcing locally where possible and proud to be part of a community of makers.
